Private Blog Networks, also known as link farms, are a group of blogs owned by the same entity. PBNs create reciprocal links between the blogs in an attempt to build link popularity and PageRank. PBNs are not looked upon favorably, are considered grey hat SEO and have been penalized by Google over the years.
