GLOSSARY

Page Rank

PageRank is an algorithm used by Google to gauge the value of a page. It works by calculating the number and quality of other pages linking to the page. PageRank, named after Google co-founder Larry Page, was the first algorithm used by Google. While PageRank today is just one of many algorithms used to determine the ranking of Google search results, it continues to provide the basis for all of Google’s web search tools.
